The power supply of notebook computer includes battery and power adapter. The battery is the power source of notebook computer for outdoor office, and the power adapter is the necessary device to charge the battery and the preferred power source for indoor office.
1 battery
The essence of laptop battery is not different from that of ordinary charger, but manufacturers usually design and package the battery according to the model characteristics of laptop, and encapsulate multiple rechargeable battery packs in a designed battery shell. At present, mainstream laptops generally use lithium-ion batteries as the standard configuration. As shown in the right figure, in addition to lithium-ion batteries, the batteries used in laptops include nickel chromium batteries, nickel hydrogen batteries and fuel cells.
2. Power adapter
When using a notebook computer in an office or a place with power supply, it is generally powered by the power adapter of the notebook computer, as shown in the right figure. Generally, the power adapter can automatically detect 100 ~ 240V AC (50 / 60Hz) and provide stable low-voltage DC for notebook computers (generally between 12 ~ 19v).
Notebook computers generally put the power adapter outside and connect it with the host with a line, which can reduce the volume and weight of the host. Only a few models have the power adapter built into the host.
The power adapters of notebook computers are fully sealed and miniaturized, but their power can generally reach 35 ~ 90W, so the internal temperature is high, especially in hot summer. When touching the power adapter in charging, it will feel hot.
When the laptop is turned on for the first time, the battery is usually not full, so users need to connect the power adapter. If the laptop is not used for a long time, it is recommended that users unplug the battery and store the battery separately. In addition, if the battery is used, it is recommended to conduct naked research and discharge on the battery at least once a month. Otherwise, the battery may fail due to excessive discharge.
